On 10/3/2023, New York State Police disclosed new details about the suspect in the Charlotte Sena case. The arrested suspect is Craig Ross Jr., a 47-year-old who sustained minor injuries resisting arrest. Ross was identified through his fingerprints found on the ransom letter left at Sena’s home, according to NBC News.
Governor Kathy Hochul revealed, “He literally drove up to the family’s mailbox … at 4:20 in the morning.” Police matched the fingerprints to a 1999 DWI arrest record. Ross lived in an RV trailer with his mom, where he was arrested, and Charlotte Sena was found hiding in a cupboard inside the trailer.
“This investigation is a culmination of multiple agencies working together for the common goal of bringing this child home to her loving family,” said state police.
Prior to her discovery, 9-year-old Charlotte had gone missing while riding her bike at Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga, New York. She was located in good health after an Amber Alert was activated. Her aunt, Jene, expressed how Charlotte seemed to “disappear almost into thin air” minutes after she was last seen.
