A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll brings concerning news for President Joe Biden in his 2024 campaign. The poll, conducted from September 15 to 20 with 1,006 adults, shows Biden trailing Donald Trump by 10 percentage points. Trump has 52 percent support compared to Biden’s 42 percent.
The poll highlights growing dissatisfaction among American voters with Biden’s handling of the economy and immigration issues. A majority of respondents, 56 percent, disapprove of Biden’s presidency, while only 37 percent approve. In contrast, when asked about Trump’s tenure, 48 percent approved, and 49 percent disapproved.
Regarding specific issues, 64 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy, and 62 percent are unhappy with his approach to the U.S.-Mexico border situation.
Despite facing four indictments this year, Trump remains the GOP primary front-runner with 55.2 percent of Republican votes, as of September 23, according to FiveThirtyEight. While many Democrats prefer an alternative nominee for 2024, it appears that Biden and Trump are gearing up for a rematch.
