Soap Opera Star Jackie Zeman, celebrated for her iconic portrayal of Bobbie Spencer on “General Hospital” since 1977, has passed away at 70. Zeman, appearing in 894 episodes of the show, was confirmed to have died by the soap’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, who praised her as a “bright light” and “true professional.”
Valentini expressed, “Jackie will be greatly missed, but her positive spirit will always live on with our cast and crew. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her loved ones, friends, and family, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey.”
Though the cause of death wasn’t mentioned by Valentini, IMDb reported it as cancer. Before her soap opera career, Zeman pursued ballet, later transitioning to acting. In March 2023, she shared a throwback picture from her early “General Hospital” days.
Tributes from fans and colleagues poured in, honoring her enduring legacy. Zeman is survived by her daughters and two grandchildren.
