Treat Williams, the celebrated actor, tragically lost his life at 71 in a fatal motorcycle accident in Vermont. Williams, who was known and loved by many, left the world too soon, prompting an outpouring of tributes online.
Reports reveal that Williams remained conscious after the accident, despite being thrown from his bike onto the sidewalk. Matt Rapphahn, owner of Long Trail Auto near the crash site, recounted, “He was totally alert, answering questions.”
The incident occurred when a Honda Element S.U.V. driven by Ryan Koss collided with Williams as he was turning into the auto body shop. Rapphahn witnessed Williams “go flying through the air.” Despite wearing a helmet, Williams lay injured on the pavement.
Following the crash, Williams was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically did not survive. The Vermont State Police confirmed that the collision happened when Koss attempted a left turn into the auto body shop, leaving Williams with no chance to avoid the crash.
Although Koss emerged with minor injuries, he was not under the influence of any substances. Williams, who suffered critical injuries despite wearing a helmet, was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in New York, where he was pronounced dead.
