Bruce Springsteen, 74, confirms the death of his mother at 98

Bruce Springsteen, 74, has confirmed the passing of his mother, Adele, at age 98 through a poignant Instagram post. In his tribute, Springsteen included a clip of her dancing and lyrics from his 1998 hit “The Wish,” believed to be inspired by her. One lyric shared reads, “I’m older but you’ll know me in a glance. We’ll find us a Little rock ‘n roll bar and we’ll go out and dance.”

Springsteen previously revealed that Adele had been battling Alzheimer’s disease for over a decade, which significantly impacted their lives. Despite her illness, he noted, “the need to dance hasn’t left her.”

Born on May 4, 1925, Adele’s exact cause of death has not been disclosed. She was not only an inspiration for “The Wish” but also influenced “American Land.” Springsteen admired her work ethic, recalling visits to her workplace and finding inspiration in the purposeful environment.
