Hollywood icon Glynis Johns, renowned for her role as Mrs. Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins, passed away at 100. The Hollywood Reporter reveals she was at an assisted living facility when she died, with her manager confirming it was due to natural causes.
In her multifaceted career, Johns excelled as an actress, pianist, dancer, and singer. Notably, she earned an Oscar nomination in 1960 for The Sundowners and won a Tony Award for her role in the 1973 production of A Little Night Music.
Johns’ personal life saw her married four times, and she leaves behind no survivors after the passing of her son, actor Gareth Forwood. As her manager noted, “May she rest in peace.”
