STAR Matthew Perry of ‘Friends’ Dead at 54 After Apparent Drowning

Matthew Perry, known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing in the ’90s sitcom “Friends,” has passed away at 54. Responders were called to his home for cardiac arrest in a jacuzzi, with no signs of foul play.

In his final Instagram post, Perry shared a picture of himself in an infinity pool, captioned, “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.”

Perry’s lifelong battle with addiction was candidly documented in his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.” He admitted, “I have it as bad as you can have it. It’s going to kill me,” echoing Robert Downey Jr.’s description of addiction as a constant threat.

At one point, Perry consumed 55 Vicodin tablets and a quart of vodka daily. Recent years saw concerning changes in his behavior, signaling his ongoing struggle.
