Former President Jimmy Carter, aged 98, has chosen hospice care after multiple hospital visits. The Carter Center announced, “Following a series of short hospital stints, former US President Jimmy Carter elected to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of extra medical intervention.”
Holding the title of the oldest living president since 2018, Carter has battled significant health issues, including brain cancer and surgery. His diverse background includes roles as a peanut farmer, US Navy Lieutenant, Sunday School teacher, and Habitat for Humanity volunteer. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
Carter and his wife Rosalynn live in Plains, Georgia, and have four children: Amy, Donnel, Jack, and James.
The news has brought widespread attention and sympathy, with many sending thoughts and prayers to Jimmy and his family during this challenging period.
