Texas offers Trump land for migrant ‘deportation facilities’

Texas officials have proposed providing 1,400 acres near the US-Mexico border for President-elect Donald Trump to construct deportation facilities. The land, described as ideal for building, could support Trump’s goal of deporting millions of undocumented migrants, including what he calls the “largest deportation of violent criminals.”

While Texas supports Trump’s initiative, Democratic governors in neighboring states oppose mass deportations. Trump’s transition team has suggested using temporary “soft-sided” facilities alongside existing detention centers.

Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham emphasized the state’s backing, stating, “We’re 100% on board with Trump’s pledge to secure the border and remove criminals.”
