Billy Ray Cyrus’ marriage to his much younger wife, Firerose, has come to an end just seven months after their wedding. The 62-year-old country singer filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct.” Cyrus is also seeking an annulment based on fraud, though details on this claim are unclear.
The couple, who tied the knot in October 2023, no longer follow each other on Instagram. TMZ first reported the news of their impending divorce.
Cyrus and Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, began dating in 2022 after years of friendship and collaboration during the COVID-19 pandemic. They married in October 2023 and shared their joy on social media, stating, “10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony.”
The couple released several songs together, including “New Day,” “Time,” “Plans,” and “After the Storm.” Firerose described “After the Storm” as a song that helped her survive her darkest nights, aiming to inspire others.
Cyrus, previously married to Tish Cyrus for 28 years, shares five children with her, including Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus.
