A woman shed 90 kg after a rescue helicopter was unable to pick her up because of her weight.

Danielle Hutchinson, 32, from Norwich, Connecticut, weighed 325 pounds when a critical moment in December 2022 changed her life. Her four-year-old daughter, Neve, suffered a severe asthma attack and needed to be airlifted to a specialized hospital. However, Danielle’s weight made it impossible for her to board the rescue helicopter with her daughter. She was forced to travel separately, a moment that became a wake-up call for Danielle, who had battled obesity her entire life.

In the weeks that followed, Danielle began taking weight-loss injections and drastically altered her diet and exercise routine. Over the next year, she lost 200 pounds, ultimately reaching 110 pounds. Reflecting on her transformation, Danielle shared, “I’ve fought obesity for nearly my whole adult life and always prioritized my kids. But missing out on the helicopter ride with Neve made me realize I had to take care of myself to be there for them.” Despite her success, Danielle now faces the challenge of removing nearly five kilograms of excess skin.
