Cheney Saddled Democrats With ‘Toxic’ Trait After Turning On Trump, Party

During a Fox News segment, Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway criticized President Joe Biden’s decision to award the Medal of Freedom to former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming), calling it inappropriate due to her role as co-chair of the January 6 Committee. Hemingway argued that Cheney’s actions were highly partisan and alleged criminality, making her an unsuitable recipient for the nation’s highest civilian honor. Hemingway further noted that Cheney’s shift to the Democratic Party took with her “unpopular, politically toxic, neocon interventionism,” which she described as a “gift” to Cheney’s former Republican colleagues. Both Hemingway and host Maria Bartiromo questioned the decision, citing its divisive implications.
