A farmer drilled in the Nevada desert to find water, but instead discovered the Fly Geyser, a stunning formation created by accident. In 1964, a second attempt to find water left a hole improperly sealed, causing geothermal water to shoot up, creating a growing mineral structure.

The geyser now hosts its own ecosystem with fish and birds, and its colorful, alien-like appearance is a result of minerals reacting with oxygen and sunlight. Though many offered to buy the land, the owners prefer to preserve its natural beauty, offering guided tours by request.
