Dolly Parton’s husband of 60 years, Carl Dean, dead at 82

Country music legend Dolly Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, has passed away at 82. Parton’s publicist confirmed he died in Nashville on Monday. His funeral will be a private ceremony with close family.

Married for nearly 60 years, Parton expressed her grief: “The love we had for more than 60 years is beyond words.” The family requests privacy.

Dean and Parton met in 1964 outside a laundromat and wed in 1966. Unlike his famous wife, Dean stayed out of the spotlight, running a Nashville asphalt business. He was raised by his parents, Virginia and Edgar Dean.
