FRIED APPLE or PEACH PIES

Enjoy a classic treat with these easy-to-make Fried Apple or Peach Pies. Perfect for a sweet snack or dessert!

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz dried apples or peaches
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or apple pie spice
  • 1 can jumbo refrigerated flaky biscuits
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Fruit: In a saucepan, boil apples/peaches in water. Cover, simmer until tender (~30 minutes). Cool slightly, mash if needed. Stir in sugar and butter.
  2. Fresh Apple Filling (Optional): Melt 2 TBS butter in a pan. Add 4 peeled, chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and 1 tsp lemon juice. Cook until soft (~15 minutes). Mash slightly and cool.
  3. Assemble Pies: Roll biscuits into 5-inch circles. Place 1 tbsp fruit mixture on half of each circle. Moisten edges with water, fold, and press with a fork to seal.
  4. Fry Pies: Heat oil (370°) in a skillet or deep fryer. Fry pies until golden, turning once. Ensure biscuit is cooked through.
  5. Drain and Serve: Drain on paper towels. Makes 10 pies.
