Robert McGowan adopted two abandoned pit bulls, Ellabelle and Ladybug, from a local shelter, providing them with a loving home. These formerly mistreated dogs flourished under his care, proving to be affectionate companions.

In a harrowing incident, McGowan faced four assailants in his garage who attacked him with the intention of stealing his car. When asked for the car keys, he claimed they were inside the house. Sensing danger, the dogs rushed to his aid upon the door’s opening, barking and chasing the attackers away.

McGowan expressed his gratitude for the protective actions of his rescued pets:

“They chased them out. My girls ran into the garage and stood over me. They stood there barking, making it clear that no one was going to hurt me anymore. The four people took off.”

He emphasized the importance of adopting rescue animals, highlighting how they can transform lives and even become unexpected heroes.
