Mac’s Mission, a Missouri-based dog rescue, recently saved a severely matted stray dog named Pear. The neglected canine was so covered in tangled fur that she resembled a wig rather than a dog. Mac’s Mission volunteers gave Pear a transformative makeover, describing the process as a “spa session.”
Rochelle Steffen, the rescue’s founder, explained, “We got her cleaned up, shaved down, and a bath to get rid of any grime and fleas.” Pear, who initially didn’t even resemble a dog, quickly settled into her new surroundings.
Throughout the grooming process, Pear displayed remarkable patience. Fortunately, she didn’t have maggots in her fur, and she was also missing an eyeball, likely due to a previous injury.
Mac’s Mission shared photos of Pear’s incredible transformation, showcasing her before and after the makeover. The rescue expressed gratitude to their supporters and emphasized that Pear now has a bright future ahead.
Thanks to Mac’s Mission, Pear has undergone a life-changing transformation, proving the power of love and care in rescuing neglected animals.
