His decision follows a recent appearance where he declined a biopic role suggested by Dolly Parton, indicating he’s stepping back from acting. Despite critical acclaim, Carrey’s career lacked an Academy Award nomination.

Reflecting on his retirement, Carrey expressed contentment, saying, “I’ve done enough. I have enough.” His departure comes after the passing of his close friend, Bob Saget, whose memorial rights Netflix acquired for a documentary.
