Al Roker, the Today weatherman, couldn’t contain his joy as he discussed becoming a first-time grandfather to his granddaughter, Sky Clara Laga. He described the experience as magical and expressed his love for his new role.
Sky Clara was born on July 3 to Al’s daughter Courtney Roker and her husband Wesley Laga. Al shared that the family was doing well, although Courtney had a cesarean section and was facing some challenges, while Wesley was adjusting to being a father.
Al couldn’t help but reflect on the passage of time, as he held his granddaughter, knowing that he had held her mother almost 35 years ago. He described Sky as perfect, weighing 5 lbs. 15 oz. and measuring 19 inches long. He also revealed that she is a great sleeper, following a schedule that matches his own.
The joy extended beyond Al himself, as his 20-year-old son, Nick, was also thrilled about the newest addition to the family. Al shared that Nick described holding Sky as an enthralling experience.
