Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning

We are big fans of Texas Roadhouse, especially their mouthwatering steaks. However, dining out can be expensive for a family. That’s why I decided to recreate their delicious steak seasoning at home. The results were amazing, and the best part is that it’s incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a Ziploc bag and seal it tightly.
  2. Shake the bag vigorously to ensure that all the ingredients are evenly mixed.
  3. Generously and evenly coat the sides of the steak with the seasoning. Allow it to sit for approximately 40 minutes, allowing the salt to penetrate the surface and tenderize the meat.
  4. Grill the steak to your desired doneness. For medium-rare, cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until it is browned and slightly charred. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Adjust the cooking time for your preferred level of doneness.
  5. Once cooked, serve the steak immediately.

Note: You can adjust the amount of salt according to your taste preferences. It’s important to choose high-quality steaks for grilling, such as Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, N.Y. Strip, or Ribeye steaks. If you don’t have the individual spices, you can substitute the steak rub with 4 tablespoons of Lawry’s seasoning salt, 1 tablespoon of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, and 1 tablespoon of garlic salt. This steak seasoning pairs perfectly with Smooth and Creamy Homemade Mashed Potatoes and Brown Gravy.
